Energy transfer between metastable nitrogen molecules N2(A3 sigma) and oxygen atoms and molecules
Abstract
Emission spectroscopy, absorption spectroscopy, and mass spectroscopy were used to study the reaction coefficients in N-O reactions. The experimental device includes gas flow control, temperature control, and electric discharge excitation. The values of the reaction coefficients and the temperature effects are given. It is found that N2O is not produced in large quantities, being only 2% of the reaction products.
