Extension of the dynamic range of image recording by microchannel plates
Abstract
It is shown that a reduction in the volume resistance and an increase in the feed voltage of microchannel plates makes it possible to reduce the resolution time by 1000 times in comparison with standard plates, while preserving the amplification properties. An image-converter circuit with high spatial resolution (10 to the (-6th m) is proposed, and the characteristics of gamma-ray detection using this device in the 28-300 keV energy range are investigated.
