State of the art of German RLG development - Latest test results of the Honeywell Sondertechnik gyro DGD 800
Abstract
An extensive evaluation has been made of the performance characteristics of the DGD 800 ring-laser gyro (RLG) with a view to its scale factor, over a dynamic range of up to 600 deg/sec; also determined are repeatability, linearity, temperature dependence, and scale-factor turn-on transient. Bias temperature sensitivity has been investigated between room temperature and 40 C at low input rates for the vertical earth rate component and at high input rates of + or - 400 deg/sec. The random-walk coefficient was also tested.
