Turbulence and combustion
Abstract
The fundamentals of turbulence theory and turbulent gas combustion are examined from a unified standpoint. In particular, attention is given to the intermittence and qualitative behavior of probability distribution densities in turbulent flows, equations for probability distribution densities, probability distributions of the passive impurity concentration, and statistical characteristics of smallscale turbulence. The discussion also covers turbulent diffusion combustion and turbulent combustion of a homogeneous mixture.
