Optimal two-impulse transfers to an asymptotic trajectory
Abstract
Optimal two-impulse transfers from a circular near-earth orbit to an asymptotic trajectory leading to the L2 libration point are analyzed in the framework of the restricted circular three-body problem. The impulse trajectories are constructed using the method of several conical sections and a theory of basis vectors. Minimum energy consumption corresponds to a 77-hour transfer.
