Numerical methods for solving problems of antenna-system synthesis
Abstract
A general approach to the well-posed mathematical formulation of various antenna-system synthesis problems is developed which is based on the theory of ill-posed problem regularization. The concepts of simple, optimal, and quasi-optimal synthesis are introduced, and methods of computer-aided synthesis are described. Particular attention is given to algorithms for the numerical solution of quasi-optimal synthesis problems for discrete antennas. Amplitude-phase synthesis and the synthesis of a waveguide array are considered as examples.
