A no hair theorem and the problem of initial conditions
Abstract
The authors present a prove of the "no hair" conjecture for a very general class of inhomogeneous and anisotropic cosmological models, and consider some of its immediate implications. It is shown that inflation becomes a generic feature of a large class of cosmologies provided with a positive cosmological constant. Initial conditions of these cosmologies then become amost irrelevant since they all end up in the same asymptotical state, the de Sitter cosmology.
