An analysis of the dynamic frequency response of a ring laser on the basis of Floquet theory
Abstract
A method is presented for the calculation of the frequency response of a laser with a periodically varying resonator frequency nonreciprocity. The method is based on Floquet theory and is valid for an arbitrary relationship between the modulation frequency and the width of the parametric synchronization zones. As an example, consideration is given to the modulation of a frequency nonreciprocity with a rectangular shape. It is shown that the zones of parametric synchronization are situated on the quasi-static response curve. If the constant component of the frequency response is comparable to the modulation amplitude, then the zones are nearly adjacent to one another, and their width reaches a maximum value which is approximately equal to the double modulation frequency.
