Development of High Efficiency Polycrystalline Silicon Solar Cells Using Solar Grade Cast Wafers
Abstract
This report describes the efficiency improvement study of polycrystalline silicon solar cells utilizing bulk type polycrystalline silicon wafers made by casting method. Utilizing the newly developed cell fabrication and solar grade cast wafer technologies, we obtained encapsulated cell efficiencies up to 14.6% (100 mW/cm2, 28°C). These efforts are expected to contribute to the reduction of the cell cost per peak watt.
