Quantum corrections to the thermodynamics of nonlinear chains at all temperatures by variational approach
Abstract
Quantum corrections to the free energy of nonlinear systems are calculated by path-integral in a new variational scheme. An effective potential to be inserted in the configurational integral is found for sine-Gordon chains at all temperatures. Explicit calculations of the specific heat are presented.
