Selective heterogeneous processes in a field of resonant laser radiation - Molecular adsorption and diffusion
Abstract
Experimental results are presented which illustrate the characteristic features of laser heterogeneous selection. Experiments (involving Ar, CO, and CO2 lasers with Br2, SF6, and C7H8 molecules) concentrated on the effect of changes in the adsorptive potential on molecular diffusion through channels. Particular attention is given to: (1) the energy efficiency of the laser control of gas diffusion through capillaries; (2) the slowdown of the diffusion of resonant molecules through a channel under irradiation; and (3) the mechanism of molecule transport through channels in a membrane under the effect of radiation.
