Experimental research on air flow through liner holes
Abstract
Experimental research on air flow discharge coefficient of liner holes and air flow distribution in combustor segment is reported. The testing on air flow discharge coefficient was done on a rectangular test piece, using water as the medium. Plain holes, plunge holes and scoops were tested. The discharge coefficients Cd were plotted against flow parameters P(p) and area parameters G(p). The air flow distribution test was done by accumulative hole blockage technology on a 90 deg combustor segment. The media were water and air. The experimental air flow distribution was compared with the calculated distribution by hole discharge coefficient.
