Design for a Large Transit Circle with Reflecting Optics
Abstract
This paper describes a conceptual design for an automatic transit circle with Ritchey-Chrétien Cassegrain type optics of 40 cm aperture. The instrument takes reversal observation both in the meridian and in the prime vertical. Methods of adopting active optics to achieve a stable boresight of the reflecting telescope and of automatically reversing and leveling the instrument are presented.
