Satellite launcher directory
Abstract
It is noted that in addition to the widely publicized NASA Space Shuttle and ESA Ariane launch vehicles, satellite launch services are available from the USSR, China, Brazil, India, and Japan. A comprehensive inventory is presented for these launch vehicle designs and their performance capabilities. NASA's booster fleet includes Atlas-Centaur, Titan, and the Titan 34D derivative. Both the ESA and Soviet Union are developing Space Shuttle-like reusable orbiters. In ESA's case, the Ariane 5 booster called for by its Hermes manned orbiter will not be ready until late 1994.
