Determination of the characteristics of anisotropically rough surfaces on the earth from polarization microwave radiometric measurements
Abstract
The polarization characteristics of microwave thermal emissions from large-scale anisotropic rough structures are studied. The permittivity and geometric characteristics of a rough surface are evaluated using polarization images from two directions. The data reveal that three linear polarization measurements are required for a complete radiation analysis.
