Study of CH2Br2, CH2I2, CH3F and D2O FIR laser media and lines
Abstract
A total of 40 FIR laser lines, including 13 newly observed ones, with wavelengths from 66 to 496 microns have been observed in CH2Br2, CH2I2, CH3F and D2O, which are pumped by a grating-tuned TEA CO2 laser. The FIR laser tube with a hole-coupling stable cavity is 2m in length and 34mm in diameter. Two new FIR laser media (CH2Br2 and CH2I2) are reported. The wavelengths of all the newly observed lines are measured, and the corresponding transitions of some of these lines are discussed.
