Review on thermal infrared detectors
Abstract
The operating principles and performance of room-temperature and liquid-He-temperature thermal IR detectors currently available or under development are reviewed. Consideration is given to performance comparisons at low frequencies, pneumatic detectors, thermopiles, bolometers, bulk pyroelectric detectors, epitaxial pyroelectric detectors, edge-electrode pyroelectric detectors, piezoelectric detectors, photon noise, Ga-doped Ge bolometers, InSb electron bolometers, thin-metal-film bolometers, and low-temperature pyroelectricity. Diagrams and graphs are provided.
