Nonlinear problem of incoherent scattering in a one-dimensional medium
Abstract
A nonlinear radiative transfer problem in a one-dimensional plane parallel medium is studies in the one-dimensional approximation. The medium is assumed to be filled uniformly with atoms with two energy levels and with free electrons. Numerical calculations are made in the fourth and eighth approximation for the Doppler redistribution law. The dependence of the real optical thickness on the limiting optical thickness is given.
