Average propagation velocity of modulated oscillations along a plane waveguide
Abstract
The problem of the multimode propagation of modulated oscillations in plane acoustic waveguides is analyzed using the Fourier integral method. The group velocity of the propagation of modulated oscillations is estimated using the method of weighted least squares with the weight function a-squared, where a is the sound pressure modulus. As an example, calculations of the average group velocity are presented for a two-layer liquid.
