Observations of symbiotic stars AS 296, AS 360 and AS 338 during their outbursts.
Abstract
In 1985 an outburst of the symbiotic star AS 296 with amplitude Delta U greater than about 1.4 m was observed. During the outburst, the light of the cold component of this star did not change significantly. Lines of H I, He I, He II, Fe II, N III, and C III were observed in the spectrum of AS 296 but without significant emission in the forbidden lines. The temperature of the hot component during the outburst was about 86,000 K, and its bolometric luminosity was about equal to that of the cold star. Observations of AS 338 in 1985 showed that the outburst of this star discovered in 1983-1984 continues. A spectrum of AS 360 obtained in September 1982 indicates that an outburst of this star occurred during the time of observations.
