Search for new X-ray pulsars in the galactic plane by the HEAO-1 Large Area Sky Survey experiment.

A search for X-ray pulsars in the HEAO A-1 pointed observations is being performed using Fast Fourier Transform techniques. The survey will ultimately include much of the region within 15° of the galactic plane as well as the Magellanic Clouds. A new pulsar, H 0850-42, with a period of 1.78 seconds has already been discovered in the survey.
