Investigation of nonequilibrium homogeneous gas condensation
Abstract
In a study of nonequilibrium homogeneous gas condensation, it is seen that considerations of real gas properties may significantly influence the critical nucleus radius, its rate of formation, the level of supercooling and the mean radius of clusters. The influence of thermophysical characteristics on the rate of critical nuclei formation is investigated. The results of calculations done for water vapor by means of the Frenkel'-Zel'dovich formula are compared to those obtained from formulas considering the influence of real gas properties. Parameters studied include surface tension coefficient, saturation temperature and gas temperature.
