Proposal of a high efficient and high power peniotron
Abstract
A modified peniotron which is expected to increase both of handling power and conversion efficiency compared with the original peniotron, and the analytical results of its operational characteristics using some computer simulations are discussed. The analytical results assuming the fundamental operation of omega sub o = approx. omega sub c at 10GHz show that an extremely high transverse efficiency of nearly 100% would be attainable over a considerably wide range of out-put power. And also, this tube is capable to increase the handling power because of the use of a TE sub 11 rectangular waveguide cavity instead of the double-pair ridge waveguide cavity used for the original peniotron.
