Practical experiences with High Pressure (HP) gas counters. Problems of operating calibration with HP
Abstract
The experience gained in the use of lobed impeller meters in natural gas supply is reviewed. The problems arising from the application of turbine gas counters in high pressure measurement resulting from an unbalanced force ratio between the driving impulse of the flowing gas volume on the wheel and the frictional and inertial forces are presented. The financial and technical problems of calibration of counters for application at HP are reported. The European HP calibration test benches and the availability of accurate HP norms are discussed.
