Abstract
An overview of the research in electromagnetics is given. The progress in diffraction studies, which include diffraction by nonconducting surfaces, vertex diffraction, diffraction by wedges, diffraction in the paraxial regions of smooth quasicylindrical convex surfaces, and caustic field analysis, is reviewed. Hybrid techniques including diffraction by perfectly conducting surfaces, the problem of diffraction by edges formed at junctions between perfectly conducting and dielectric boundaries, analysis of microstrip antennas, and reflecting antenna synthesis are presented. Integral equation studies of material coated edges and time domain studies are also updated.
