Thermal degradation of charring ablators
Abstract
The kinetics of thermal degradation were evaluated for graphite/epoxy using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) experiments run at different rates of temperature rise. The analytical aspect of the study is summarized, and TGA curves for the graphite/epoxy are presented. Arrhenius plots for determining kinetic parameters are shown along with a plot of the parameters for determining the preexponential factor and kinetic order of reaction.
