Mixed convection flow about slender bodies of revolution
Abstract
Mixed convection heat transfer in steady-state, laminar axial boundary-layer flows past slender bodies of revolution is investigated analytically. Similarity velocity and temperatre profiles as well as local skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number have been obtained for bodies with variable surface temperature or heat flux. The effect of body shape and size on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are presented.
