Telemetering of a missile bus 1553 B
Abstract
In view of the difficulty of directly transmitting the data circulating on a 1553-B bus by microwave link during a missile test, a specific controller providing the interface between the bus and the IRIG PCM has been developed and is described. The transmission principle is addressed, including the 1553 message encoding and the dating. The general principles, the clock synchronization principle, the management principle, and the eight-byte FIFO function principle are described. The principle, microcontroller, and interface of the PCM/1553 relocator, which recognizes and identifies telemetered words and sends messages on the 1553 bus, are discussed.
