Time-dependent radar target signatures, synthesis and detection of electromagnetic authenticity features
Abstract
A rational function approximant for extracting the complex natural resonances of a scatterer from complex measured or calculated multiple frequency scattering data is described. The extraction procedure incorporates preprocessing filtering and windowing techniques as well as a sum operator. Utility of the extraction process is illustrated for simulated data on a spherical scatterer, to demonstrate noise sensitivity, and for other objects using measured or calculated data. A method for using the complex natural resonances to improve target imaging techniques is suggested.
