A Maximally Symmetric Supergravity Inflationary Universe
Abstract
The author presents an inflationary model which is based on a maximally symmetric N = 1 supergravity. It is shown that within this model the standard cosmological and scale stability problems, which are associated with the grand unification and "big-bang" cosmology, are naturally solved. The gravitino mass is heavy, m2/3 ≅ 1012GeV, thus avoiding the light gravitino problem which was a common fact in all previous SUGRA models. The SU(5) phase transition to the SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) phase is induced by the inflation and the magnetic monopoles are diluted during the inflationary epoch.
