Experimental investigations of pulse-pulse interference in heterodyne detection
Abstract
The interference of two laser pulses originating from the same source and thus having a constant frequency difference was investigated. The calculation of the heterodyne currents in the interference of two pulses is described. It is shown that a coherent pulse-pulse interference is possible in a pulse heterodyne system. Experimental data are in good agreement with theoretical predictions, especially the determination of the intermediate frequency.
