Finite element methods fon non-Newtonian flows
Abstract
The viscoelastic flow problem is reviewed and the numerical techniques used in simulating nonnewtonian flow process are summarized. Differential and integral flow types are considered. The loss of convergence occurring at a certain value of the Weissenberg number is discussed. It is believed that finite element methods are not yet able to tackle the high Weissenberg number problem.
