Development of a statistical method of particles for relaxation problems of chemically reactive gas mixtures
Abstract
Based on the Bernoulli test scheme, a statistical simulation method for the analysis of the relaxation of multicomponent gas mixtures with bimolecular chemical reactions of exchange type is proposed in which each model particle has its own random weight. This simulation is shown to be adequate to the solution of the Boltzmann equations in the limit where Delta-t goes to zero and when conditions of molecular chaos are fulfilled. The weight dispersions are finite, and the complexity of the method is inversely proportional to the first degree of the minimum relative concentration. Attention is given to a method for reducing the complexity by a procedure for the mixing of particles from different realizations at each step Delta-t.
