An integral method for calculating three-dimensional laminar boundary layers in compressible adiabatic flow
Abstract
An integral method is described for calculating three-dimensional, laminar, compressible, adiabatic boundary layers in curvilinear, non-orthogonal coordinates. The method is not restricted to small cross-flows. For the evaluation of the integral thicknesses, one parameter velocity profiles for the main stream direction and tow parameter velocity profiles for the cross-flow direction are used. The one parameter profile family is based on similar solutions of the boundary layer equations. The two parameter profile family results from a polynomial expression. Comparisons with exact solutions, finite difference and integral methods are given.
