General purpose Keplerian algorithms
Abstract
Formulas and algorithms of the two-body problem are analyzed to determine their generality, i.e., their applicability to any type of Keplerian orbit (including rectilinear motions). Approaches to the generalized formulation of some computational problems are examined, and a computational procedure is developed for solving generalized Kepler's equation. A general-purpose algorithm for a Keplerian-orbit shift is proposed.
