Experimental investigation of the hydrodynamic instability of the interface between media of different density in an acceleration field
Abstract
The interaction of a shock wave and the contact mixing region of two flows with different densities and temperatures is investigated. The post-interaction width of this region is measured for various flow density ratios. Data are obtained on the effect of the contact mixing region on the shock front passing through it.
