Relative intensity-energy calibration of X-ray photoelectron spectrometers: Instructions for the use of reference materials SCAA83
Abstract
Two methods involving the use of the reference samples SCAA83 to relate the intensity-energy response functions from one X-ray photoelectron spectrometer used for quantitative surface analysis to another with an accuracy better than 5% were established. The instructions given were used for the original interlaboratory comparison to test the reference procedure and to determine the transmission functions of a limited set of instruments. Details for the handling of the reference samples, the operation of the spectrometer, and the reporting of results are enclosed.
