Hydrodynamic stability theory
Abstract
The mathematical principles of linear and nonlinear HD stability theory and their physical implications are examined in an introductory textbook. Chapters are devoted to classical HD stability, generalized solutions in HD stability, branching and stability of the solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, the nature of turbulence, and the influence of the presence of a porous medium on HD stability.
