Doubly salient reluctance machines and their controllability
Abstract
The design and control of doubly salient reluctance-type electromechanical energy converters employing semiconductor switching devices and microcomputers are investigated theoretically, focusing on machines with stator and rotor teeth and slots of equal width. A graphical analysis method based on the law of energy conservation and taking the saturation of ferromagnetic materials into account is developed to follow energy conversion along closed cycles in the flux/mmf diagram.
