Ionosphere effects may replace some communications satellites
Abstract
The concept of beaming a powerful radio wave pulse at the ionosphere in order to create a plasma cluster was discussed. This cluster could be used as a mirror to reflect TV waves. Since it would be possible to control the shape of the plasma cloud, signals could be beamed toward very specific areas on the Earth's surface. This system if workable could eliminate the need for many communications satellites.
