Removal of polarization degeneracy in open resonators with astigmatic reflectors
Abstract
A dispersion equation for the principal TEM(00q) mode in an astigmatic resonator is obtained with allowance for the vector character of the electromagnetic field. Also obtained is a relationship that characterizes the degree of removal of polarization degeneracy for different principal modes. Theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental data for a wavelength of 4 mm.
