Characteristics of thermoelectron energy distribution in the tungsten, molybdenum, and niobium single crystals
Abstract
It is shown that, in the case of a random distribution of electrons according to their initial energies, experimentally obtained volt-ampere characteristics of a planar diode can be used to determine the quantitative characteristics of the energy distribution of emitted electrons. Several series of volt-ampere characteristics are plotted for different planes of W, Mo, and Nb; both theoretical and experimental values are included. Furthermore, the electron energy spectrum is described as a function of temperature for the (111) plane of W single crystal, based on experimental data.
