Equations for the moment functions of waves propagating in randomly inhomogeneous media with extended inhomogenetics
Abstract
Equations for the first two moment functions are derived for waves propagating in a randomly inhomogeneous medium with the inhomogeneities extended in the direction of wave propagation. Mean-field equations and wave coherence functions are defined for different elongation extents. It is noted that the equations can be generalized for media with additional regular inhomogeneities such as the stratification of the refractive index.
