Symmetry of the distribution of energy flux density in waveguide inhomogeneities and certain consequences of this symmetry
Abstract
The symmetry of the Poyntingvector distribution in singlemode waveguide structures having linear or pointwise symmetry is demonstrated. A number of relations between the amplitudes and phases of the principal and higher modes are established which are not a consequence of the energy conservation law or mutuality relationships. Reference is made to the mathematical modeling of microwave circuits.
