Doppler technique for the operational monitoring of laser-beam diameter
Abstract
The use of a laser Doppler velocimeter to determine the diameter of a laser beam is described. The beam diameter of a CW laser is determined on the basis of the experimental dependence of the value of the Doppler signal on the location of a test scatterer in the measurement space. The technical characteristics and advantages of this method are discussed, and results of measurement are presented.
