Alpha Tauri CD - a well-known Hyades binary.
Abstract
Contrary to a recent statement by Cudworth, the visual binary α Tau CD has long been recognized as a member of the Hyades. It has appeared in many lists of Hyades stars. Its radial velocity has been monitored for a decade at Palomar Observatory and has proved to be constant and consistent with membership of the cluster. The separation of the pair is now too small to be detectable by spectroscopists with the 200-inch (5-m) telescope; measurements by speckle interferometry is urged.
