New chemical laser from the photodissociation of BrNO
Abstract
NO laser emission from the photodissociation of BrNO has been observed between the ground state vibrational levels ' = 7 and ' = 3 using He and Br 2 as buffer gases. The laser threshold appears at > 5 torr with samples diluted (1:70) (BrNO:He) and reaches maximum intensity at ≈ 50 torr.
