Results and problems from synthetic horizontal branches.
Abstract
In place of previous analyses of the dependence of HB star structures, and therefore RR Lyrae pulsational properties, on the various evolutionary parameters, synthetic horizontal branches (SHBs) are constructed whereby evolutionary constraints are taken into account in detail. The evolutionary theory content of SHB construction involves classical He-core mass derivation without consideration of star rotation, etc. A development history is presented for SHB theory and its applications.
