Military EMC tests benefit from automation
Abstract
Techniques to automate EMC testing for military electronics and communications equipment are reviewed. Consideration is given to current automated EMC test measurement equipment using desktop calculators and microcomputers. Some common sources of error in EMC test measurements are discussed, including improper response to simulated ignition noise in the VHF region; and inadequate resolution of the noise spectrum. An automated EMC test procedure incorporating a discriminator to recognize CW signals is described.
