On the accurate numerical solution of Blasius equation for laminar boundary layer along a flat plate
Abstract
The numerical solution obtained by Howarth for the Blasius equation for the laminar boundary layer of incompressible fluid along a flat plate is widely used. The numerical table is allegedly correct up to six significant figures. It is shown here that the accuracy of the last decimal is doubtful, and a table is presented which is correct with eight significant figures. This correction does not however, significantly affect the physical parameters which characterize the boundary layer.
